Dwayne Wade is known for his GQ persona and sharp ensembles, so it comes to no surprise that the NBA star is gearing up to launch his own fashion line!
With the end of his Nike contract, Dwayne Wade has decided to collaborate with Chinese athletic company Li-Ning to launch his new collection called “Wade.”
The Miami Heat player has enlisted the help of shoe designer Alejandro Ingelmo, who is known for his futuristic designs, to help create the collection’s look.
D. Wade has been extremely hands-on with this project, so if you thought that he was just going to slap his name on the brand, then you’re seriously mistaken!
“He’s already given me some guidelines and things he wanted out of the shoe. It’s a collaboration, it’s an open conversation between us,” Ingelmo told SlamOnline.com.
We’ll get a glance of the shoe collection on fashion’s biggest stage during the Mercredes-Benz New York Fashion Week, this coming February.
Wade has a lot riding on this new line, and there seems to be a friendly style rivalry going on between him and his teammates!
“I’m on a team with LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and they both dress well,” Wade told GQ magazine. “It gets competitive. If I don’t bring my A game, they’re going to outshine me,” he said.

I love the idea of Dwade starting his own fashion line. He always look well put together and clean (well before and after the games). I think your image is the key to having a successful clothing line. I will definitely be looking for more updates regarding the line Ericka. Thanks!
I think it’s going to be a very sharp line! He’s starting with shoes, but I can’t wait until he starts making apparel. We’ll definitely keep you posted
