Editorial assistant interns will help in all areas of the blog and magazine and assist in daily operations. EA interns should be consistent, reliable, super attentive to details, flexible and should possess excellent communication and teamwork skills. Candidates should be self-starters and excellent at time management. Proven administrative, writing or journalism experience is preferred.

You do not have to receive college credit to intern with EGL. However, if you do need to receive college credit, we may be able to provide you with that, depending on your respective school’s requirements.

Editorial assistant intern positions are available in the following departments:

1. Senior Staff Management Team: The senior staff management team oversees all of the daily operations concerning the magazine-blog. It oversees all content production and every section in the editorial team department. Editorial Assistant Interns assisting the senior staff management team will learn what it takes to run a 24-hour blog/magazine and will work closely with the EGL CEO, CWO, Editors-at-Large, Managing Editor and Senior Editor.

- Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: creating and updating media lists, contact lists, and interview lists, assisting in magazine management processes, sending out reminder emails, maintain calendars, transcribing interviews, writing, sending out interview requests, maintain online storage files, coordinating weekly and monthly meetings, sending out applications to potential candidates and maintain and updating our so social media accounts.

2. Editorial Team: The Editorial Team is composed of several sections that produce amazing content for our blog. Editorial team assistant intern positions are available in the following sections: Beauty

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting the beauty section and fashion section, with all daily operations for the section, writing, organizing magazine features, collecting story topics, putting together outlines, sending out product review requests, aiding in building relationships with beauty fashion  companies, sending out applications to potential candidates, drafting blog posts.

Although we are only hiring for select departments and sections, we are accepting applications for all departments and sections.

After we receive your interest email, we will email you with our application and company introduction letter. Please send your completed application and accompanying materials and documents back to the aforementioned email address, titling your email with your first and last name and “Editorial Assistant Internship Application” (i.e. Mary Jane- Editorial Assistant Internship Application). In addition, please indicate in this email your 1st and 2nd choice department AND section placements.

We cannot guarantee that you will be placed in your 1st or 2nd choice department sections. However, we will try our best to accommodate your requests. In addition, although you will be primarily working with a particular team, you may be asked you to be a “rover” and assist on various different projects in other areas.

If you are selected, we will send you an official offer via email. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, you will not be notified if you are not selected.
