The day was filled with networking, empowerment, laughs, and even some tears. Don’t be fooled, in room filled with sisterhood, the Kleenex was definitely on hand!

During the day event, Girls Love Girl Talk, women were greeted with breakfast and mimosas while they mingled with each other and EGL staff!

The theme for the day was “The Balancing Act“, and in true EGL fashion, each editor gave their advice and experiences on how they learned to juggle everything they have going on in their lives: children, husband, friends, careers (yes, with an “s”!), school and everything else that may fall in between!

A commonality that was discussed was “The Mask“, what women tend to hide behind when “all hell is breaking loose!”

Love and Sex Editor, Precious Avorkliyah, told us to do away with it and reach out for a bit of help. Beauty Editor, Regina Perarman, followed up by ensuring us that it’s quite alright to be a little selfish at times; “Through the evolution of self comes the evolution of you,” she stated.

Fashion Editor, Monica Romero, offered the guests a nice reality check about wardrobe and dressing the par! She even upgraded “errands attire” from the sweatsuit to a simple maxi dress, deeming it the “Glam Girl’s Sweatsuit“!

Wall Street Exec. Ayanna Stephens discussed the importance of spirituality and having a strong foundation. She stressed that we need to become “saturated in the moment” (now thats DEEP!) and not worry about tomorrow.

After a brief intermission, EGL’s own, Yandy Smith, joined the women and shared her vision of EGL and the direction she wanted her life to go in. She also shared her secret weapon and mentor, Mrs. Mona Scott- Young!

Apparently, Beyonce is ready to introduce another “Love On Top” to the world!

That’s right! According to multiple sources and E! News, King Bey is preggers! After disobeying strict doctor’s orders to slow down and rest, Beyonce may be forced to do so.

E! News reports that multiple sources have confirmed the pregnancy, but of course, The Carters have remained tight-lipped about it. Lately, Bey has been in the media discussing a growing family, stating Blue Ivy ” needs some company” and how she “would like more children“.

The speculation continued after she was forced to cancel a show on her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour because of “exhaustion and dehydration“. Although Bey hit the stage the next night, fans did state that “she didn’t seem like herself“.

Well, we may now know why!

 Bey nor Jay have spoken up about the pregnancy, but we’ll sit and patiently wait for their confirmation.

With all the drama circulating about American Idol, it was nice to finally hear some good news! As the 12^th season of American Idol wraps up, Candice Glover, 23, was crowned queen of the FOX competition.

Hailing from St. Helena Island, S.C., Glover defeated 22-year-old Kree Harrison. She is the first woman to achieve victory in six years!It was the first all-woman finale since 2004 when Fantasia Barrino defeated Diana DeGarmo.

Flabbergasted after her win, Glover said, “Speechless. … Part of me is so happy that it happened, and part of me is relieved that I don’t have to sing for votes and worry about making it to the next round, because that’s such a stressful process. But I know the work is only going to get bigger from here on out.”

It was not Glover’s first or second time audition for American Idol. She tried out for FOX’s competition once for season nine and again for season 11.“I’m happy I came back, and that I was determined enough and it finally paid off,” she said.

Glover performed her new single, “I Am Beautiful” for the coronation ball. There is no bad blood between Harrison and Glover. The country singer had sweet words for the young lady who defeated her.

“I’m so proud of her, and so proud of myself,” Harrison said.

Tyrese. Ginuwine. Tank.  The R&B group of every ladies dream between the ages of 18 and 45, finally dropped a video. While TGT did avoid shirt removal (sorry ladies), the group managed to still put on a show. In front of a crowd, full of women, TGT performed their single “Sex Never Felt Better”.

Dressed in all black, the trio enters the stage to a sold-out crowd and gives the ladies exactly what they’re looking for.  Remaining smooth, they make sure to connect with the audience with outstretched arms as they croon their sex-fueled lyrics.

The New Jersey artist, Saz.E, is a fire spitter!  Hailing from the streets of Franklin, NJ, the young artist has dropped two mixtapes. With his second project, Invincible Tomorrow, the rapper shows his versatility exploring social issues, relationships, and growing up in bad environments.

War Room:

One of his most powerful tracks, “War Room”, shows Saz.E in one of his most lyrical elements.

“I’m sick of rap being home to buffoons. So thus I roll platoons that come carrying rifles with headphones on the tops of their eardrum, shots popped to the clear son.”

The culture Saz.E would kill for is missing the exact style Saz.E possesses. The balance of ambition and talent, the party sound versus the conscious hip-hop are some of the most debatable points of view in hip hop history.  Tracks like “War Room” show the skill Saz.E has of balancing the different sounds.

Matt Murdock:

Saz.E’s most recent release, “Matt Murdock”, shows a growth in Saz.E’s lyrical prowess. In this track he shows the development of his flow, and even his ability to harmonize. The sound is a large contrast from his previous sounds, but what’s artistry without growth?

As Saz.E continues to grow as an artist, his development will be an interesting one to witness. The opportunity to transition to a mainstream style would be very understanding, however, that doesn’t seem like Saz.E’s style.

Earlier this week, music mogul Diddy was in West Los Angeles making an appearance at an exclusive hotspot called Soho when things took an unexpected turn. After Diddy was dropped off, his bodyguard and another passanger left in his car—a Maybach retailed at $500,000.

It was after the two men took off that trouble ensued, and a swarm of police cars pulled over the vehicle consequently arresting the two men. The reason? An apparent phone call was made to the police about an armed man sitting inside the car, prompting police to respond with full force.

Luckily for Diddy, he got to avoid the entire ordeal. The phone call now is being called a “false alarm”, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department is now investigating the incident.

The incident has been subbed “swatting” and include pranks and false alarms on Hollywood celebs, including Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Rihanna, and Ashton Kutcher. Seems like these pranks are getting very out of hand, especially when people are being put into handcuffs!

For some women, getting in shape for 2013 is a goal set in stone. This includes wonderfully toned arms like our First Lady Michelle Obama. Though I can’t promise everyone will look like her, I can provide the following three exercise tips to get you started. These can be done with a simple dumbbell set from any gym or local retail store.

The Triceps Push

Put your arms by your side with your elbows bent. Extend the rest of your arms all the way back and squeeze your triceps. Do three sets of 10. Source: Fit Sugar

Chess Press   

The chest press works the triceps in your upper arms and chest muscles. Lie on the floor face up, or on a bench if available. Bend your knees and keep your feet flat on the floor. Grasp a dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing forward, and extend your arms completely. Begin the exercise by lowering your arms slowly until your triceps are horizontal to the floor. Another month, another ‘Ye rant!  While at Adult Swim’s Upfront event in New York City, the rapper spent a reported 90-minutes performing his set, ranting about not being a celebrity and debuting an ode to his baby’s mom / girlfriend Kim Kardashian.

Providing attendees with hit singles like “Jesus Walks”, “All of the Lights” and “Good Life” from his abundant catalogue, Kanye West broke out into a rant – in which he has become infamously known for.

According to reports, “halfway through” his set, the rapper discussed his dislike for the highly sensationalized and paparazzi-obsessed celebrity culture.

“…I don’t want no people running up on me with cameras, trying to like sell pictures and sh-t to magazines, asking me dumb ass questions, throwing me off my focus and sh-t. Harassing you all m-thafu—in’ day. I ain’t no m-thafu—kin’ celebrity…”

Seemingly entitled “Awesome” – considering the content of the track – West speaks highly of his leading lady Kimmie over the slow-piano-instrumental-based single.

Similar to the original track, the single features a reminiscent 90’s R&B feel where the singer is still enamored by her boo, the one who has her feeling herself while on the sensually-festive-ride.

She still seductively sings,

Unlike the initial slow jam though, the remix is a more sped up sample of Ghost Town DJ’s old time hit, “My Boo” which gives the track an extra party-like kick!

Philly native Eve is ready to address any issue that the public may present to her about her current relationship with British entrepreneur Maximillion Copper!

Earlier in May, Eve spoke to Vibe Vixen about her future kids with her Caucasian boyfriend and how she plans on teaching them to be “color blind”, saying, “I don’t want them to see color. I never did,” then saying, “I grew up in the hood and my mother was very good at it not being a black thing, even though I grew up around all black people. I want them to want to know everything about all kinds of races.”

After Eve made this comment, many criticized the rapper for her beliefs, but she sat down with The Grio in a video interview to discuss her “color blind” comment and how she feels like black men who date outside their race can be hypocritical towards black women who also do the same.

The 34 year old expressed how she doesn’t understand how race and interracial dating is still a issue in 2013, and how black men have been dating outside their race for years, but once a black woman does it, it becomes a problem.

Eve said, “At this point it still annoys me that race is such a big issue in 2013,” then added, “Like, get over it.”

In the interview she also points out other famous interracial relationships like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West saying, “What the f**k is the problem?”, “She’s not black. They’re not the same race, but no one says a thing.”  Then Eve said, “I don’t understand it, black men have been doing it for years.”

Eve may have a point there!

Race has been an issue for quite sometime in all communities, but Eve is not down for teaching racial issues to her future children because she feels it promotes ignorance and causes division. We hear ya sister!

Besides her love life, which seems to get more attention than her music these days, Eve dropped her latest album “Lip Lock” in April and fans are glad to see Eve back at it!
