Oh Baby!

Kim Kardashian has been quite mum about the details surrounding the birth of her daughter on Saturday (June 15), but she recently shared some baby news with Ryan Seacrest.

After the E! News correspondent sent the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star an congratulatory email on her bundle of joy, Kim quickly responded, “Can’t believe it. So crazy!”

“She’s very, very excited,” Ryan said on his morning radio show Tuesday, admitting that he still doesn’t know details about the baby’s name.

However, OK! Magazine reports that the couple named their baby girl Kaidence Donda West, after Kanye’s  late mom.

In addition to Ryan spilling the beans, Kim’s bestie, Brittny Gastineau also shared some baby news.

“I’ve been there every day,” Gastineau tells Us Weekly of the mom who gave birth five weeks early. “I’m so happy to be an auntie.”

Adding, that Kim and Kanye are settling into parenthood just fine. “It is not weird at all [to see them as parents],” she tells Us. “Everything is normal…It’s all meant to be. They have been amazing.”

It’s clear that everyone is excited for Kimye! A slew of celebs have sent the couple well wishes, including Beyonce, Russell Simmons and Nas!

And while we wait for pictures of  the baby, Kris Jenner is reassuring everyone Kim and Kanye’s little lady is simply “beautiful.”

“[The baby] is doing great and she’s beautiful,” Kris told HLN at the Daytime Emmys. “We’re all fine. We’re all good and extremely happy and thrilled for the new baby.”

Becoming vegan is not for everyone, but it can’t hurt to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet.  You don’t have to make the change cold turkey.  Try it out one day a week or one week per month.   The old adage is “you are, what you eat” and it’s the truth!

The competitive nature in hip-hop is a big reason as to why.  The height of this competition reached a peak in 2007 when Kanye West went head-to-head with hip-hop’s favorite bully 50 Cent.  The marketing was at a premium, and the results were one of the biggest release days in the history of rap music. Nearly six years later and Mr. West is back at it, but only this time he faces a completely different challenge, the youthful upstart J. Cole.

The music on these projects were always going to be very different.  Kanye has always prided himself on pushing the envelopes far beyond the realm of what’s considered the norm. The music on Yeezus is an abundantly clear example of that. The track “Blood on the Leaves” shows Yeezy at his best and brightest. From the classic sampling to the new infused sound and of course the jam-packed lyrics that are deeper than the surface.

Ye couldn’t just sit back and not give one vintage Yeezy track. He achieves that on the very last record, “Bound 2”.  One thing about Yeezy is, he never releases two projects that sound alike, but every once in a while he brings the soul back. It was about time!

What the purist hip-hop fan may find missing on the surface of Ye’s new album, they’ll be more than satisfied with J. Cole’s Born Sinner.  Cole has always been known as the young rapper who gives the fans flashbacks of the 90’s hip-hop they always longed for.  No song exemplifies that more than the TLC-assisted “Crooked Smile”.  With a choir-like chorus by the 90’s group, and a beat made for the golden era, you can hear Cole’s NY rap influences.

One particular native of New York may have inspired him the most though.  The Queens native Nas was a huge influence in Cole’s life, and it’s extremely evident as Cole dedicates an amazing track to him.  “Let Nas Down” comes off as a bright-eyed, honest record that’s definitely one of his strongest.

Everyone isn’t going to enjoy Yeezus, because everyone isn’t on Kanye’s planet. And in the same token,  Born Sinner isn’t for everyone either, especially when you’re looking for innovation. These two projects are on completely different sides of the hip-hop spectrum, but that’s what makes hip-hop, HIP-HOP.  The best question to ask when it comes to picking which album is better is which one do you get with your last ten dollars?  With my last ten dollars, I’m adding another Yeezy album to my collection.  J. Cole can wait another week or two, although his time is near.

Following a full day of media to promote the new LP at New York’s own Hot 97 and 106 & Park, Ms. Rowland ended the day at the well known music store. Fans flooded the aisles as Ms. Kelly enthusiastically greeted her excited supporters, who braved the rain to catch a glimpse of the talented songstress. The edgy and eclectic album reveals a more dynamic and deeper layer of the former Destiny’s Child member. With tracks like Dirty Laundry & Kisses Down Low, Ms. Rowland steps out of the shadow of the infamous Mrs. Carter and showcases her undeniable talent.

Ms. Kelly lets us into her soul on Talk A Good Game, and she certainly does not disappoint. Be sure to pick up a copy of the album, in stores now!

Everything Girls Love

When will people learn, coming for King Bey is basically career suicide! Mainly known for her racy lyrics in “My Neck, My Back”, rapper Khia has no problem giving it to you raw and dirty.

This week in the “Twitterverse” the rapper decided to TRY IT and put Beyoncé on blast. According to Khia, not many artists [including the “Grown Woman” singer] make the time to communicate with their fans.

Well, she sounds like a bitter bee!

She continued the insults by suggesting the mother-of-one does not produce original work. Furthermore, Khia stated Beyoncé stole the term “Beyhive” from Brooklyn rapper Lil Kim. Lil Kim often refereed to herself as “Queen Bee” and her team as the “BeeHive”.

We all know Bey loves the hive, and it seems like she’s proving that without the help of Twitter!

Drake graces the cover of GQ Magazine for their July issue as he revs up the promotion for his newly announced tour and upcoming album, Nothing Was the Same,which is slated to drop later this year!

Inside the cover story, written by Michael Paterniti, Toronto’s very own invites the infamous men’s publication into his Southern California home, where the rapper chops it up about his short-winded ‘beef’ with Chris Brown, backlash from peers, eye-opening advice given to him by Will Smith, the evolution of his music career, and where he’s at with love.

In typical GQ style, he’s tailored in some of fashion’s finest – Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren and Alexander Wang, to name a few – for the cover shoot. Take a look at some of the interview’s excerpts as well as Drizzy getting his GQ on, literally, below!
